Conference participants came from all over the United States and beyond. We had professionals in higher education from California to Vermont, from Wisconsin to New Jersey to Florida. We also had a presentation from the University of Pamplona in Colombia!

What was the focus of the conference?
“Universal Learning Issues: Individual Learning Solutions” aimed to help you answer:
- How do individuals actually learn?
- What can I do to increase learning in my classroom among all students?
- Why do some students with high SAT scores succeed while others with
the same demonstrated potential fail to connect to the collegiate learning
environment? - How can knowledge of one’s own learning help the first year student successfully transition to the collegiate environment?

- How can I integrate academic learning and residence life in a meaningful way?
- How can I help my advisees who keep slipping through the academic cracks?
Who attended this conference?
“Universal Learning Issues: Individual Learning Solutions” was an inclusive rather than exclusive conference. The sponsors of the conference sought participation from faculty and professional staff within all academic disciplines and academic and student affairs units, as well as administrators who have a commitment to student success. This conference was directed to those involved in:

Participants had numerous opportunities to mingle with “job-alikes” in an intimate, small conference venue. Rather than being one of a several thousand, the forum venue of this conference promoted audience interaction with presenters and panelists who focused on the following:
